THEIR STORY.
SYS | ADM
  • Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, the youngest son of two old money Cameron Park socialites. His father was a senior Air Force officer who was involved in the early contact and coordination surrounding the Architects’ android envoy. His mother, image conscious and trend obsessed, was an early adopter of both the chip and, later, Autonomous Corpus. The Bradshaws separated when Fox was six over irreconcilable disagreements about chipping their children. (They were chipped anyway.)

  • His mother leaned fully into Autonomous Corpus ideology and relocated with the children to an AC enclave outside Asheville. His father, stationed in D.C., was killed when the bombs fell. Fox spent the next five years in an Autonomous Corpus compound in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He remembers very little of this period — partly because of his age, partly because his implant began to malfunction around age fourteen. The sudden and uncontrolled return of distressing emotions was more frightening than anything else. He was en route to total implant failure when a Dislinked operative embedded in the group helped extract him.

  • Fox was relocated to the Dislinked compound in Saldanha Bay, where he became fixated on becoming a pilot, like his father before him. There were at least two ill-advised attempts to sneak aboard the Mnemosyne with active operatives — both failed, but they earned him a reputation for eagerness rather than discipline. While waiting to age into eligibility, he pursued a degree in American history and started a band (the band didn’t last long, despite being half-decent.)

  • Once cleared for operative training, he threw himself into it with tireless enthusiasm, determined to earn his place and honor his father’s legacy. He distinguished himself as a gifted pilot, if occasionally too eager for praise and reassurance. His training is only recently complete, and he is very impatient to finally prove himself in the field. At night, however, he still wonders what became of his mother and siblings in the Autonomous Corpus enclave, and whether he will ever be brave enough to go looking for the answer.
